“My philosophy with winemaking is to understand winemaking from vine to bottle,” Blake says.
“The bonus with this job is that I get to spend half my time in the vineyard, doing everything from pruning to shoot thinning to tractor work and disease control and the remainder of the time I work as a cellar hand doing lab work, blending of wines, testing trials, shipping and sales.“I’m very interested in the tradition of winemaking, it’s very old work, people have been doing it for hundreds of years.
“My grandparents are from Poland and they used to make wine in their basement.
