Michigan Foreclosures Up 22.3% in 3rd Quarter

Reported in USA Today on Thursday, October 14, and based on RealtyTrac statistics, 37,026 foreclosures were filed in Michigan in the 3rd quarter, an increase to last year of 22.3%. This was similar to the US average of 22.5% increase to last year with 937,840 filings nationwide.

Year over year triple digit increases occurred in the following states: Alabama (+173.9%), Idaho (+153.5%), Minnesota (+100.3%), Mississippi (+241.0%), South Dakota (+205.9%), Vermont (+169.6%), West Virginia (+356.0%) and Wisconsin (105.2%).

And year over year declines occurred in the following states: Delaware, D.C., Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Wyoming.
